Stour Valley Arts

An arts centre at the edge of a 1500-acre forest

Stour Valley Arts provides a platform for art and associated work including artists commissions, exhibitions, walks, lectures, workshops, training and education. Their work takes place in Kings Wood - an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' in Kent.

Having developed a relationship with Beep Studio over several years, they asked the Ed and Peter to work with them to develop an Arts Centre as a headquarters with facilities including a gallery, an education workshop and a live-work artists studio, as well as office and library. 

As an exemplar of sustainable design and construction, it fits into the historic King’s Wood like one of SVA’s own sculptures. 
Beep’s work with SVA began with concept ideation and continued with of workshops and development discussions, resulting in a briefing document and feasibility study. Beep summarised the scope of the complex project in a single, legible diagram.
